A bright, sunny day in LA.

Today turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. After having a delicious breakfast meal at our hotel, we caught Uber to the Griffith Observatory and I must admit, I never knew how spread out Los Angeles was until I saw the view from Griffith Observatory. And can I just say…it took my breath away. The Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles, a national leader in public astronomy, and one of southern California’s most popular attractions. Seriously, there was a lot of people at the observatory today. The Observatory is also one of the best vantage points for observing the Hollywood Sign.

After exploring what the Observatory had to offer, David and I decided to make the hike up the Mt. Hollywood Hiking Trail for a closer look at the Hollywood Sign. The trail takes about an hour and 15 minutes each way. I would like to say we walked the entire trail but after reaching The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Overlook, we gave up. But we got some great photos.

After this, we were feeling hungry and felt like doing a bit of shopping so we caught an Uber to Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills. This is another restaurant owned by Lisa Vanderpump which I did not realise until David mentioned it to me. Again we treated ourselves to such beautiful food. I had a Walnut Crumbled Salmon Salad which was incredible. I regret not sneaking a photo of it. It was actually really good. While we were having our lunch, David managed to spot not one celebrity, but two. First off he had spotted the world’s first ever super model, Janice Dickinson, leaving the restaurant soon followed by Jessica Parido who stars in the reality show ‘Shahs of Sunset’. I did see Jessica but it took a while for me to realise who she was.

After lunch, we walked down Rodeo Drive checking out all the designer stores that lined the street. A lot of the stores were starting to set up their Christmas decorations and they were wonderful. David purchased something in the Louis Vuitton store and was served by a Sales Associate who tried to convince us that the missing Malaysian airplane MH370 was abducted by aliens.

We are back in our hotel room after walking to Whole Foods Market, an American supermarket chain specialising in organic food to grab some food for dinner and breakfast (for tomorrow morning). It will be an early night for us as we are flying out to Las Vegas early tomorrow morning.
