Yesterday was our last day in New York City. This was the day we were dreading and we weren’t particularly pleased about it. Since our flight didn’t depart until 6pm we had time to revisit Time Squares one more time, and have breakfast/lunch at The Olive Garden. Coincidently, we ended up at the same table we had last time we were there. We had a delicious meal and chatted about random things. After paying, we headed to the Red Stairs in Time Square (at West 47th Street and Broadway, the north end of Times Square) to take in the sights and take some photos. Under these stairs is the NYC’s TKTS (pronounced phonetically as spelled-out “tee kay tee ess”) where you can by theatre tickets throughout the day at a discount. It started to rain lightly so we hurriedly walked to Starbucks, as I wanted to buy one of their NYC’s limited edition mugs. We decided to go for a stroll towards the Rockefeller Centre and check out some of the Christmas decorations along the way.
Eventually it was time for us to head back to the hotel and hail a cab to JKF Airport and wait for our plane. Here we will leaving NYC at 6pm on Saturday 28 to Los Angeles, then waiting for about an hour before boarding another plane heading straight to Brisbane, to home on Saturday 30th at about 7:30am. Can you believe it? We literally will be missing one entire day!
Back in Australia, we are feeling jet-lagged and is dreading the warm summer already. I admit that I did feel upset that I was no longer in NYC and cannot wait for the day that I get to go back. Until then, NYC will always be in our hearts.
And so this brings us to the end of our two weeks trip to the USA blog. I hope you enjoyed what I have posted and don’t worry, this won’t be the end. There will be many more trips to come.
TO BE CONTINUED.
