Today we left London and caught the Eurostar to Paris and then caught the Thalys train to Amsterdam.
Upon arrival at the Amsterdam Centraal station, we caught an Uber to our hotel. We are staying at the Student Hotel for the next couple days.
When we entered the hotel, I stared in bewilderment at the interior of the hotel. There was splashes of yellow, it was sleek and modern and we had a warm welcome. As we were checking in, we were asked if we would like a Dutch cookie which we accepted. It was delicious!
The featured image (seen above) is the view from our hotel room. How awesome is it?!
After this, we made our way through the hotel to our room and refreshed ourselves before heading out for dinner.
My friend spoke of a place that we should attended called La Place so we made our way to there for dinner. Described as something similar to Eat Street but significantly smaller, there was different kinds of food such pizza, fish, roast chicken, sandwiches to order. David and myself got some pizzas. They are tasty.
Feeling a bit thirsty, we decided to pop into a bar for a couple beers before making our way to the Red Lights District. The red light district is actually a fun place for a stroll. After all, it would be a shame to come all the way to Amsterdam and not visit the landmark, and with the government looking to rebrand the area, it may be one of the last chances to see the red light district in all its glory. We did not get to see much of the Red Lights District however we plan to revisit this district soon to see a live sex show! After this, we decided to head back to our hotel to grab some sleep.
Tomorrow we plan to explore Amsterdam by bicycle (!) which will be interesting as we both have not ridden a bicycle for a long time and I am so excited!
